v1.14.0 — April 24, 2026

New features

  • Red5 Analytics and Metrics are now available for Growth plan customers.
  • HLS delivery is now available in Red5 Cloud.
  • CORS configuration is now available in Red5 Cloud.
  • The pop-up preview player now shows playback controls and no longer renders as muted by default.

Bug fixes

  • The Review Details page for scheduled deployments now shows the correct start date.
  • The Broadcast Using Your Camera popup now reflects newly added node groups.

v1.13.0 — February 27, 2026

New features

  • CORS configuration is now configurable from the UI.
  • Stream Manager now scales based on load and bandwidth usage instead of raw connection counts.
  • You can now sign up for Red5 Cloud directly through AWS Marketplace.
  • A new Video Packager node type is now available.

Improvements

  • You can now select a specific node group when launching TrueTime Meetings.

Bug fixes

  • Video source information is now distinguished by group name to avoid ambiguity.
  • An issue that prevented node group creation in certain circumstances has been resolved.
  • Webhooks were not being called in some circumstances — this is now fixed.
  • Upgrading from a PAYG Monthly plan to a Growth plan now completes more smoothly.

v1.12.0 — December 31, 2025

New features

  • TrueTime Meetings — a full-featured video conference solution — is now available on your Red5 Cloud account. It includes standard and dark mode interfaces. Full source code is available on GitHub.
  • PubNub is now fully integrated with Red5 Cloud accounts. Your PubNub keys are accessible from the Dev Resources page.
  • A new dashboard UI displays your current usage at a glance.
  • A new browser-based publisher widget lets you start a live stream directly from your webcam within the Red5 Cloud UI.

Bug fixes

  • Max Users can no longer be set to zero.
  • The copy link on the camera screen now respects the currently selected node group.

v1.10.0 — August 5, 2025

New features

  • Pay-As-You-Grow — New subscription plans are available with no credit card required to sign up. Every account includes 50 GB of free streaming per month.
  • Map Dashboard — Visualize all your active deployments on an interactive world map.
  • Bandwidth & Usage Tool — Monitor current bandwidth consumption and upgrade your plan directly from the dashboard.

Improvements

  • Dynamic Preprocessing is now enabled by default. A new Dynamic slider has been added beside the Preprocessing setting in Node Group configuration.
  • Bandwidth & Instance Usage Reporting — A new usage report lets you track bandwidth and instance-hour consumption across monthly, weekly, daily, and hourly intervals, with filtering by user and date range.
  • RTSP Push Streaming — You can now push RTSP streams directly through the Streams UI.
  • Streams page items were renamed and rearranged for clarity, and pagination was added.
  • Information tooltips have been added to key Node Group fields including ABR Transcoding, Mixer, and Preprocessing.
  • SDK license information is now displayed in the Developer Resources section.

Bug fixes

  • Resolved an issue where Stream from My Camera would not start when multiple node groups existed.
  • Fixed trial users seeing “Invalid date” for last login — it now defaults to the current time when session data is unavailable.
  • Corrected false email validation errors and login failures in certain environments.
  • Added retry logic to improve the reliability of stream appearance on first load.
  • Minor UI corrections and repairs.

v1.9.2 — June 18, 2025

Improvements

  • The New Stream button on the Streams Detail page has been repositioned below the stream list for improved usability.
  • All instances of “Deployment” in the UI have been renamed to Node Group for consistency across the platform.
  • The Node Groups page layout and structure has been enhanced for clarity.

Bug fixes

  • The RTMP publish endpoint in the Node Group panel now correctly displays the associated RTMP proxy port (e.g., 1935, 1936).
  • Expired sessions now correctly log you out and prompt reauthentication instead of causing unexpected behavior.
  • Various UI inconsistencies have been fixed.
  • Issues with Proxy JWT login mechanisms have been resolved.

Known issues

  • The RTMP proxy port may not display correctly in certain node group configurations.
  • The default RTMP pull URL is now a placeholder and must be replaced with a valid URL before the Add Stream button becomes active.

v1.9.1 — June 9, 2025

Bug fixes and enhancements

  • Node groups with configured AWS credentials can now be modified and saved successfully.
  • Scheduled node groups that were active no longer show an error status after being edited and saved.
  • The baseline node group can now be successfully rebuilt when renewing a canceled subscription.

  • Automatic node scaling can now be triggered by CPU load and memory usage in addition to publisher and subscriber counts.
  • Dynamic preprocessing is now available.
  • You can deploy a Brew Mixer directly from the Red5 Cloud UI.

  • The RTMP Publish URL is now complete when copied from the Streams page.
  • A Proxy user has been added for limited access to the Stream Manager API for creating provisions.
  • SRT parameter validation has been improved.
  • UX improvements: you are no longer warned about unsaved changes when nothing has actually changed.
  • The Live Preview menu and page have been removed; all functionality has been migrated to the Streams page.
  • A random AES-128 passphrase is now generated by default for SRT streams.
  • A Subscribe URL is now available for all streams.
  • Clicking a stream name on the Streams page now opens a video preview.
  • Test Streams functionality is working correctly again.
  • RTSP Pull protocol has been added to the Streams UI.

Known issues

  • After deleting a Zixi stream, it remains active as a dynamic stream and the stream name cannot be reused. As a workaround, use a different stream name or restart the deployment from the menu.

v1.7.0 — April 4, 2025

Versions 1.4.0 through 1.6.0 were skipped for internal version alignment.

New features

  • Zixi UI support is now available in Streams, including step-by-step documentation for getting started.

Bug fixes and enhancements

  • Transcoder instance size has been increased to 4 OCPUs to support HEVC encoding.
  • Fixed a blank screen that appeared when subscribing with a valid token.

Known issues

  • After deleting a Zixi stream, it remains active as a dynamic stream and the stream name cannot be reused. As a workaround, use a different stream name or restart the deployment from the menu.

v1.3.0 — March 25, 2025

New features

  • Automatic H.265 to H.264 transcoding on ingest is now available when transcoding is enabled.
  • Hosted Round-trip and token authentication are now available.
  • WebRTC streams can now be provisioned directly from the UI.

Bug fixes and enhancements

  • Associated Mixer and Provision resources are now cleaned up automatically when a node group is deleted.
  • Guidance on the Let’s Get You Started page has been improved.
  • WebRTC streams can now be deleted from the UI.
  • Both audio and video tracks are now present when using Test Streams.
  • The platform logo has been updated from RED5 to RED5 CLOUD.
  • The Live Preview and Streams pages have been merged into a single page.

  • The baseline deployment configuration can now be viewed in read-only mode.

Bug fixes

  • Some publish URLs were not correctly formed in the UI — this has been corrected.
  • A stream name limit of 236 characters is now enforced in the UI.
  • RTMPS publishing from OBS to Red5 Cloud is now working correctly.
  • Encrypted storage authentication credentials are now re-encrypted when your account password is changed.
  • Mirrored icons and imagery on QuickStart player pages have been removed.
  • Storage credentials can now be deleted from the UI.

  • The default dashboard page is now the Streams page instead of the Deployments page.
  • A Quick Start guide is now shown at the bottom of the main page when you first log in.

  • Email addresses are now verified before new accounts can be created.

Bug fixes

  • Test Connection on the new stream page is now working correctly.
  • Round Trip Authentication now works with Origin + Edge + Transcoder node group configurations.

Red5 Cloud v1.0.0 is the initial major release of the Red5 Cloud platform. This release establishes the foundation for fully managed live streaming, including the Red5 Cloud Management Console, Stream Manager 2.0, auto-scaling node groups, and multi-protocol ingest via WebRTC and RTMP.
